Spread awareness: TierraLuna Gardens is celebrating Earth Day

It was 1970 when the modern environmental movement was conceived. The movement aimed to create awareness of the contaminating gases and substances damaging the earth, water, and air, our living sources.

Initially, it all started in 1969. At a UNESCO Conference, the peace activist John McConnell proposed a day to honor the Earth and the concept of peace. The suggested date was March 21st. However, the proposal didn't proceed.

But things changed in the 1970s when Senator Gaylord Nelson proposed to hold a nationwide environmental teach-in on April 22 called "Earth Day." However, the original idea of the Senator changed a bit as more than 20 million people joined the events happening throughout the country and marched on the roads. To this day, the first-ever Earth Day is still the largest single-day protest in human history.

At TAFER, we keep fighting to bring awareness to the public, our collaborators, our members, and our guests. Read more to discover what the event commemorating Earth Day at TierraLuna will include.

On April 22nd, members and guests can enroll in diverse activities and experiences that aim to bring awareness to the public.

Join the "Our Earth" conference to learn more about climate change and how to help create awareness on the topic.

Join the tour and walk along the paths of the botanical garden. The tour is open for all visitors to enjoy, so bring your camera and capture the beauty that Mother Nature has given us.

To end the day, we will have a "Plant a tree" activity, perfect for enjoying with little kids, as they will have tons of both while learning how to plant a tree, the ecosystem of Puerto Vallarta, and how to save the planet too!

The meeting point is at TierraLuna's Deck at 11:00 am.
