As a foreigner can I buy property in México? 


Yes, of course you can, there is an structure established in mexican law called a Fideicomiso (trust), so foreingers can buy a property within the designated restricttive zone which is a strip of 50 KM FROM THE COAST LINE AND 100 KM FROM THE BORDERS.

 

 Is the trust a lease? 


No, the trust is not a lease. The propperty ownership Will be transmited to the trust and the Foreigner Will be the beneficiary of all rights derived from such ownership, such as use, enjoyment of the property, renting it, selling and receiving the procedes, designating substitute beneficiary (ies), etc 


How long does the trust lasts? 


It is renewable every 50 years 


Can I assign my rights of the trust to another person? 


Yes, in order to transfer the property to another foreigner, you can assign your rights of the trust. 


How would I seel the property to a Mexican Citizen? 


Before a Notary you Will cancell the Trust and transfer the property fee simple to a Mexican National. 


How Much are the expenses for closing costs, including the Trust?
