Navigating the Airport

Navigating the Airport

From the moment that your plane touches down in Mexico until the time that you depart back home, we plan to make your vacation experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. Airports can be overwhelming, therefore we have put together this article on how to best navigate the airport and find your shuttle transportation. It is our hope that resources such as this will empower our guests to feel confident and informed. Whether you will be joining us in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, or Los Cabos, here are all the details in order to arrive at the resort smoothly.

After deplaning and going through immigration, make your way to the baggage claim area. Look for the baggage carousel board and find your corresponding flight number which will tell you which carousel will have your flight's bags. After retrieving your luggage, you will need to pass through a customs check. Be sure to have your passport ready and your Entry Immigration Form filled out. You can get this from your airline or fill out the form online and print it prior to traveling. You can find the form here. Remember, once the immigration official stamps your Tourist Card, don’t lose it. We recommend keeping it together with your passport as you will need to present it at check-in when leaving Mexico, or you will need to pay the replacement fee to get another one.

Once you have cleared customs, exit the airport as our transportation shuttles will be waiting for you outside. All shuttle transportation must be arranged with the hotel ahead of time. Upon making your initial reservation, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details. Let us know in advance if you will be needing any additional equipment such as a baby seat or wheelchair, we are eager to know how we can best accommodate you.

Puerto Vallarta International Airport

Your VIP transportation hostess will be waiting for you after clearing Immigration and before picking up your luggage. Keep an eye out for a hostess wearing a purple dress and a beige blazer holding up a “VIP SERVICE” sign also with your name on it. In case you don’t see the hostess, you can stop in at the VIP desk in front of baggage carousel number 7. Once you have collected your luggage, you will have to pass through a random customs check. You’ll put your luggage through a scan and you will be asked to press a button under what looks like a stoplight. Note that only one person in your family needs to press the button. If you get a green light, you can walk through without inspection. If you get a red light, customs will pull you aside to inspect your luggage.

After you have passed through the stoplight system, you will exit through a sliding glass door, where many salesmen/women will be trying to get your attention. Just ignore them and continue walking until you cross another set of sliding doors and our Hostess with the “VIP SERVICE” sign will show you to your transportation.

If you have pre-arranged your transportation and there is any change to your arrival date or time, please let us know 24 hours in advance either by emailing: transportation@garzablancaresort.com or please contact us directly by phone at
