Earth Hour, Special Dinner, and Members Cocktails

## Earth Hour 2021

Earth Hour was a movement that started in Australia when advertising agency Leo Burnett Sydney and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) came together to shed light on the issue of climate change. They came up with the idea of inviting locals to join them in a voluntary lights-off event on a large scale, which they called "The Big Flick." Later the name was changed to Earth Hour.

Earth Hour started in 2007 and since then it takes place every year on the last Saturday of March. Earth Hour will take place this year on Saturday, March 27th from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm (your local time). During this hour, businesses, households, and governments around the world are encouraged to switch off their lights. This hour is about more than just switching off your lights, the intention is to raise awareness about the issues facing our planet and be a catalyst to inspire change

Earth Hour is our opportunity to speak up and show our commitment to preserving our planet and our people because the collective action of everyone can make a difference. See the below list of what our resorts are doing to participate.

### Garza Blanca Cancun

Humanity and the way we feed, fuel and finance our societies and economies are pushing nature and the services that provide us with energy and sustenance to the limit.

At Garza Blanca Cancun, we are committed to our planet, environment, and society, that is why during Earth Hour this March 27th, we will have a general blackout in all areas of the hotel at 8:30 pm. We will invite our guests to be part of this event by turning off the lights in their rooms.

We will also be hosting a special candlelit dinner at Blanca Blue. We will turn out all the lights at the restaurant and work by candlelight. The a la carte menu will be plant based as well as the drinks, and we will have Casa Madero as a guest winery presenting a selection of organic wines as a tasting.

The Earth Hour menu will include: Baba ganoush, chickpea hummus, vegetarian kibis, tomato sashimi, vegan lasagna, roasted cauliflower, eggplant confit, and more!

### Garza Blanca Los Cabos

Firepit Garza Blanca Los Cabos

On March 27th from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Garza Blanca Los Cabos will invite our guests to turn the lights off in their room and join us at the Fire Pit on the beach.

Our activities staff will provide them the ingredients to prepare some

s'mores around the Fire Pit while everybody will take a moment of silence to calm our busy minds and practice gratitude for our planet.

### Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta

Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta

On March 27th we will show our commitment to the environment with a tree planting activity for kids at 11:00 am. The kids are invited to leave their own special mark on the Garza Blanca Preserve by planting a tree that will live on the preserve for anywhere between 100 years up to a few thousand years!

The activities guide will lead the activity and give children saplings that have been grown in the resort´s own nursery from seeds collected around the Preserve. The children will be taken to a designated area where they can leave their legacy and return to visit their tree year after year.

### Garza Blanca Cancun

Four Hands Dinner

 Garza Blanca Cancun

Garza Blanca Cancun is pleased to present our first ¨Cuatro Manos¨ or ¨Four Hands¨ dinner on March 30, 2021 at 6:00 pm in our contemporary Mexican restaurant, Blanca Blue. The concept of Blanca Blue is white coral reef. The design is a mix of corals in pearl, gold and white that create an atmosphere of elegance.

Four Hands is a 5-course pairing dinner with organic wines provided by Casa Madero, as a guest winery. The reason we have called it ¨Four Hands¨ is because we will have 2 chefs cooking. The main ingredient on the menu will be corn because corn is an integral part of the identity of Mexico. Not only is it one of the most consumed ingredients in the country, but the very origin of this grain is the central zone of Mexico. We will have the presence of a Chef and a guest Sommelier.

The main objective of Four Hands is to take each guest by the hand on a journey through Mexico. The food and wine will be paired to enhance the flavors and sensations that the guest experiences. Guests will have the opportunity to taste different accents of food dishes around Mexico seasoned with typically Mexican spices in order to know the type of the cuisine in the destination that has been chosen as their vacation place.
