Wildlife & Nature Near Your Resort

Wildlife & Nature Near Your Resort

You don't need to be busy with costly tourist type things to make long-lasting memories on your vacation. In many cases, some of the best vacation memories are made in quiet moments: a 5am hike prior to a morning meal, a cooling ocean breeze after a hot afternoon or standing at the shore looking out over the endless expanse of ocean as the sun rises and you say, "wow."

At TAFER Residence Club destinations in Mexico (Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun) you do not need to schedule each and every hour to be connected to nature. The times you leave open in your itinerary will likely be the times you remember the most.

Cabo San Lucas

The desert and the ocean meet in Cabo San Lucas to create a visual experience that is so dramatic it is almost movie-like. There are several simple ways members visiting Cabo can appreciate this beautiful combination of desert and ocean.

An easy luxury is to go for a sunrise walk along the beach. If you're not normally an early riser, the cooler air, softer light and quieter shoreline of the beach during the early hours offers a completely new perspective on your vacation.

Another simple pleasure is to go for a quick, 'no-headphones' walk. Listen to the calls of the birds and the waves instead of your music and podcasts for a while.

If you would like to book a guided tour, look for one that is both scenic and environmentally conscious, which allows you to see the dramatic coastline and marine life of Cabo while keeping a safe and respectful distance from the wildlife.

Puerto Vallarta

In Puerto Vallarta the environment is green, vibrant and full of life. Members can appreciate nature simply by taking walks at the ends of the day - either in the early morning or late in the evening, when the temperature is milder and the light is softer.

While there is no need to book a guided tour to experience nature in Puerto Vallarta, a shaded path, a quiet stretch of beach or a relaxing walk after breakfast all provide opportunities to spend quality time in the great outdoors. Take a moment to note the smaller things around you; a bird call, a tropical plant you've never seen before, or how the sunlight shines off the water. It is often these little details that we remember the most.

If you are traveling with family or friends, plan one outdoor activity together and then allow the rest of your day to be laid-back and flexible.

Cancun

In Cancun, the ocean is right in the middle of everything. Members can experience a quieter aspect of their vacation by going to the beach early in the day, when the shoreline is less crowded and the light is calmer.

Plan just one memorable water experience and allow the rest of your vacation to develop as it may. Spending time by the pool, having a leisurely lunch and spending your afternoons in a relaxed manner can often result in the most enjoyable days.

Before you get up to leave the beach, take a few seconds to look at the area immediately surrounding you. These small actions can also assist in preserving the pristine coastline for other travelers to visit in the years ahead.

A Quiet Nature Hour

Next time you travel, try to include a "no-schedule" nature hour into your trip. Designate one hour without a specific agenda. Walk slowly. Notice the lighting. Take photos if you want to, but don't seek them out.

Let the destination dictate the pace. Many TAFER Residence Club members report that these quiet, unplanned times are those they hold onto the longest after returning home.
